This past week, our team had the opportunity to participate in two outstanding industry golf events that brought together contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, associations, and community partners from across the regions we proudly serve.
While the golf was certainly enjoyable, these events were ultimately about strengthening relationships, supporting our industry, and investing in the future of construction.

Connecting with Niagara’s Construction Community
On June 17, our team joined industry partners at the Niagara Construction Association Golf Tournament at Legends on the Niagara.
Representing Hewson Brothers were Dave, Carly, and Beth, who spent the day connecting with contractors, builders, and industry professionals while sharing exciting news about our newest location, which will be opening in Thorold later this summer.
As a company that has served Niagara and surrounding communities for decades, the opportunity to meet face-to-face with customers and industry partners is always valuable. Events like this allow us to strengthen existing relationships, introduce ourselves to new members of the construction community, and continue building the local connections that have been the foundation of our business for generations.
The enthusiasm surrounding our upcoming Thorold location was incredible to see, and we appreciated the opportunity to discuss how this new branch will help us better serve customers throughout the Niagara region.
Supporting Workforce Development at the GVCA Golf Tournament
The following day, June 18, Hewson Brothers participated in the Grand Valley Construction Association Golf Tournament at Conestogo Golf Club.
Jeff, Trevor, and Beth represented our team throughout the day, joined by our partners from Legacy Builders Ontario, an organization that is helping inspire the next generation of skilled trades professionals across Ontario.
One of the highlights of the event was seeing so many familiar industry faces stop by to learn more about Legacy Builders and sign up to volunteer for the upcoming school year. As the program continues to expand throughout Waterloo Region, Halton Region, Niagara Region, and beyond, the support from industry professionals remains incredibly encouraging.
It was also rewarding to see so many Legacy Builders sponsors participating in the tournament. The continued growth of the program is only possible because of the commitment shown by contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, associations, and community leaders who understand the importance of investing in the future workforce.
As a fourth-generation family business, Hewson Brothers recognizes that the future of our industry depends on the people entering it. Programs like Legacy Builders help introduce students to the wide range of rewarding career opportunities available in construction while creating meaningful connections between education and industry.
The construction industry has always been built on relationships.
Whether it’s supporting customers, partnering with local organizations, mentoring future tradespeople, or volunteering our time within the communities we serve, we believe every opportunity to connect helps strengthen the industry as a whole.
Both tournaments served as excellent reminders of just how strong and supportive our construction community continues to be. We are grateful to the Niagara Construction Association and the Grand Valley Construction Association for hosting such successful events and providing opportunities for industry professionals to come together.
Most importantly, we are thankful for the many customers, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and friends who continue to support initiatives and events that help move our industry forward.
We look forward to seeing many of you again throughout the summer and continuing the work of building stronger communities, stronger partnerships, and a stronger future for construction.
