Built to Stand Out: Meet Our Projekt Network Commercial Project Contest Winners
Every commercial project comes with its own priorities—from creating a space that reflects a company’s personality to completing the essential work behind its walls. Our Projekt Network Commercial Project Contest celebrates the skill and care that go into bringing those spaces to life.
This year’s top honours go to Dan Robinson Construction Management and Vedro Drywall for their work on two distinct Ontario businesses: a Toronto record label’s head office and Crystal Beach Bakery.

1st Place: Dan Robinson Construction Management
Bringing Six Shooter Records’ character into a new home
When Six Shooter Records moved its Toronto head office from an old downtown building into a fairly typical industrial condo, the owners wanted to carry something special with them: the character, culture and “herstory” of their previous space and business.
Dan Robinson Construction Management helped turn that vision into a workplace with personality.
The team gutted much of the existing interior, keeping walls where they still offered value. Working with the client, architect and interior designer during the pandemic, they completed the renovation in approximately six months. The layout was established quickly, while finer details continued to develop as framing progressed.

Behind the finished surfaces, thoughtful construction supported the design. The team combined metal framing with wood for pocket doors and added blocking to provide a secure nailing surface for baseboards. Plaster crown moulding and deep, moody colours called for careful drywall finishing, while wallpaper added another layer of character.
A dedicated stage area was also central to the project. It gave Six Shooter Records a place for musicians to perform and audition, as well as room to host functions—bringing music directly into the workplace.
The finished office continues to serve the business as a positive, interesting environment for its team and colleagues. By combining practical construction with a strong sense of identity, Dan Robinson Construction Management helped create a new home that honours the company’s story.
2nd Place: Vedro Drywall
Skilled work behind the scenes at Crystal Beach Bakery
Vedro Drywall earned second place for its work at Crystal Beach Bakery, with a scope that included drywall installation, drywall finishing and fire separation.
These elements form an essential part of a commercial interior. Installation and finishing prepare the walls for the next stages of the space, while fire separation serves a distinct protective function within the building.
The project highlights the role drywall contractors play in commercial construction: their work contributes both to the surfaces people see and to the assemblies behind them. Congratulations to Vedro Drywall on its second-place finish.

Celebrating our winners
From a music-focused office with a distinctive atmosphere to the drywall work supporting a bakery’s commercial space, these projects showcase different sides of the trade.
Congratulations to Dan Robinson Construction Management and Vedro Drywall, and thank you for sharing your work with the Projekt Network community!
